Herniated Disc and Low back Pain relief with Acupuncture!

So, you have a herniated disc. I am sure your doctors have told you that you will always have a herniated disc. Don't panic. While herniated discs can be painful, everyday people are walking around with herniated discs pain-free, they may not even know they have one!
So what if you aren't one of those lucky people? When the musculature around the disc becomes tight, or knotted with trigger points, it can press on the vertebra, causing the disc to press on the nerve. This sends pain throughout the area and sometimes down the leg to your foot.
Here is how I can help. Acupuncture and trigger point dry needling helps release the trigger points or tight muscles around the vertebra. When the muscles in that area are relaxed, the vertebra are relaxed and are not pressing on the disc and your pain is reduced. Acupuncture also helps bring blood flow to the area. Blood flow = healing!
If your doctor has suggested surgery, I would try everything else possible before going that route. The success rate for back surgeries are not very high. There are also complications with any surgery and the recovery time is very long.
If you have any more questions or concerns about how acupuncture can help your pain, please feel free to call 484-938-8778 or email brittany@renewacupuncturecare.com
